Winnetka Watch Crime Updates May 9th, 2020

VEHICLE BREAK-INS *7800 block of Quartz: Suspect entered victims UNLOCKED door and removed $600 worth of property *7300 block of Lubao: Suspect removed catalytic converter *Oakdale/Lull: Suspect removed catalytic converter *20200 block of Sherman Way: Suspect forced entry into victim's vehicle and removed $12,000 worth of property *7600 block of Oso: Suspect entered victim's UNLOCKED vehicle and removed $600 worth of property

BURGLARY  *19700 block of Gilmore: Suspect entered residence through open door while home owner was home. Suspect removed a lap top from a table, but was confronted by the home owner. Suspect dropped lap top and fled location. Suspect is named as he is an Ex Tennant to lcation *20100 block of Saticoy: Business burglary. Suspect reached in to drive through window and removed cash from register during open business hours

STOLEN VEHICLE:   *20400 block of Elkwood: 2015 Toyota Prius taken from the drive way of residence. Key FOB was left inside vehicle (SMH) *Keswick/Winnetka: 2000 Isuzu Rodeo taken from the street

It definitely has been a little busier out there lately. Due to the No Bail with arrest, suspects are released even faster and given a court date. Now if we can add a bail pending their arrest status, we will. Just remember to ALWAYS removed your personal belongings from plain view in your vehicle. Lock your vehicle and lock your front door when you are home. If you have a screen door, lock that as well if you are keeping that front door open!
